Blazing Saddles CMC June 23rd

This turned out to be another great gig, this time set in a large school hall at Brooklands School in Leighton Buzzard. It was our first appearance here and we weren't sure that our style would be suitable to an all dancing crowd, but we needn't have worried. They were on there feet from beginning to end, some very tight dancing, slick moves and a very appreciative audience.

Thanks go to Christine for an extra special warm welcome and we hope to return, although the club is fully booked for next year but it is well worth waiting for.

Chester Arms, Oxford July 6th

To prove a point .... a small inner city pub can be a great venue for Country music. The Chester Arms is one of our favourite venues and the small crowd are always welcoming. This gig drew the attention of "Muscle and Curves" who came along to see how real country music should be played (Only kidding !! We would be happy to follow in their footsteps) and our ex bass player Mike Abbott (just to keep Simon on his toes) and they were treated to a really tight couple of sets.

Joe showed his versatility as a singing drummer by performing "Heartaches by the number" in the wrong key! And Rachel performed for the second time a self penned number called "Going Home".

The Chester Arms has live music with a different theme each week and is well worth a visit.

East Garston Social Club - July 14th

An article in the Lambourne Valley News declared "Good ol' boys and gals of East Garston step it out." and it concluded "It was the first time that Rachel Skelly's Fallen Angels had played at the social club and they really did go down a storm."

It was also the first time that we had played together on the back of a truck, which was a bit unnerving (and stage space was at a premium) but in the end it worked out well. we performed well to a crowd of just over 100 and were joined by pedal steel player Kevin Bartholomew, to enhance the sound of three very tight sets. Kevin will be performing with us at Fry's club in Bristol on August 26th.

Nick is away in America for the next gig at Cinderford on August 3rd but we will have the experience and expertise of Mr Steve Luckett for one this first gig at The Miners Welfare Hall. Were looking forward to it.
